Platinum and Stone Sentiment

Interior Design that Blends Linear Aesthetics with Elegant Light Classics

The Platinum and Stone Sentiment design project, created by Chou Shu-Lung, is a stunning example of how calm and orderly linear aesthetics can seamlessly blend with sensuous and romantic elegant light classics. This single-storey residence, located in Hsinchu County, Taiwan, showcases a unique combination of functionality and artistic flair.

The design inspiration for this project stems from the unique preferences and interests of the homeowners. The male owner, a manager in the hi-tech industry, has a deep affection for Lego cars and limited shoes. The female owner, an artist specializing in baking, creates a creative environment for their children. The design aims to reflect their particular household style, combining a sense of calm and order with elements of sensuality and romantic elegance.

The layout of the residence was carefully adjusted to meet the needs of the homeowners. The kitchen was enlarged to accommodate the female owner's love for baking and painting. The axis of the kitchen island, dining table, and dining area were combined to enhance daily operations and functionality.

The main wall of the living room and the tabletop of the dining table feature exquisite Spanish marble, creating a subtle reflection of the outdoor greenery and indoor lights. The kitchen island bar, designed with ingenious details, serves as a highlight of the space. Constructed with thin slate panels, it integrates multiple functions, including a wine cabinet, two-layer dining ware drawers, and an electrical appliance cabinet.

The living room showcases a smooth and bright marble wall, complemented by sophisticated titanium-plated decorative strips on the ceiling. These elements create a unique and harmonious correspondence with the end view wall in the dining room and the sofa back wall, adorned with classical and elegant frames. The private zones of the residence are defined by thematic colors, adding a touch of individuality to each bedroom.

The foyer of the residence features a religious wall as the main theme. A stone tabletop resembling a shrine holds a majestic martial king statue, surrounded by wooden grills and a dark-colored slate wall. This design element provides a calming and soothing effect, creating a sense of safety and tranquility within the home.

The Platinum and Stone Sentiment design project faced several creative and technical challenges. The coatings used on the sofa back wall, dining room end view wall, and high cabinet in the foyer required intricate craftsmanship. The simulated frosted texture in pale grey color was achieved through a meticulous process, resulting in a lasting and elegant finish.

The Platinum and Stone Sentiment design project, created by Chou Shu-Lung, is a testament to the seamless integration of functionality and artistic expression. This unique interior design showcases the perfect balance between linear aesthetics and elegant light classics, creating a space that is both visually stunning and highly functional.
